Association responsible for nation's first outdoor recreation director Utah recently announced a new government position to oversee efforts to promote outdoor recreation in the state, and the Outdoor Industry Association played a large part in its creation. According to The Denver Post, Utah Gov. Gary Herbert angered OIA last year when his administration sued the federal government over the state's rights to roads on federal lands.
